Hanna City man pleads not guilty to charges filed following deadly crash

A gavel rests on a judge's bench in a blurry courtroom. The text "WCBU Courts" sits on top of that photo.

A Hanna City man is pleading not guilty to charges stemming from a deadly January crash just northwest of Peoria.

Jeremy Perry made the plea in Peoria County court on Thursday. He's charged with leading Peoria County sheriff's deputies on a chase while driving under the influence and on a revoked license.

Authorities allege Perry is responsible for the resulting three-vehicle crash that left 43-year-old Miriam Schmid dead.

He is due back in court on April 13 for a scheduling conference.
