3-year-old suffers graze wound to head in Peoria shooting

Peoria police are investigating after two people in vehicles, including a child, were grazed by bullets in a shooting incident.

While responding to a call of shots fired Tuesday night near Big Hollow and Creighton Terrace, police found a vehicle stopped at War Memorial and Allen Road with the rear passenger window shot out. An adult man with a graze wound to his head was found in the back seat. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A second car was stopped on War Memorial at Bacon. It contained a woman and her toddler, who also was grazed on the head by a bullet. The child was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The woman said somebody shot at her vehicle. Police noted a shot was fired during a large argument involving around 20 people in the 4800 block of North University Street a short time before the shooting victims were discovered.

There is no suspect information available. Anyone who knows more about the shootings is asked to contact Peoria police.
