Bond set for man charged with making bomb threats against downtown Peoria hotel

A gavel rests on a judge's bench in a blurry courtroom. The text "WCBU Courts" sits on top of that photo.

Bond is set at $100,000 for a Creve Coeur man charged with making three false bomb threats against the Hotel Pere Marquette in downtown Peoria.

Val Burks, 30, allegedly made one threat on Jan. 19, and two on Jan. 28.

The hotel was evacuated multiple times after the threats were made. Authorities never found anything after making sweeps of the building.

Burks is due back in court again on March 2 for a preliminary hearing.
