Former Toulon city councilman pleads guilty to child porn charges

A gavel rests on a judge's bench in a blurry courtroom. The text "WCBU Courts" sits on top of that photo.

A former city councilman from Stark County is pleading guilty to federal child pornography charges.

Jason Musselman, 35, of Toulon pleaded guilty Thursday to producing, distributing, and possessing child pornography.

Musselman told the court he produced child pornography images of teenagers using a tanning bed in his house. The pictures were taken without their knowledge.

He also reportedly distributed other child porn images, and possessed more than 650 child porn files on his computer.

His sentencing hearing is set for March 23, 2023 in Peoria. He could face between 15 to 30 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a lifetime of supervised release.
