The Big Table of Greater Peoria is returning for a third year, and organizers want you to pull up a seat.

Kelly Schneider is director of programming for the CEO Council and the Young Professionals of Greater Peoria.

"This isn't just another one of those things where you come in and you talk about things, and then nothing ever happens," she said. "So we've actually got reports to show people from, these are the things that came out of the first one. Here's what we've been doing over the last couple of years to make those improvements."

Schneider said previous' years conversations around the Big Table have led to significant work. She cites workforce development as an example.

"We have a lot of really great employers in the area, but they were having challenges getting people to actually work there, depending on qualifications and things like that. So one of the biggest things that came out of that was the formation of the Regional Workforce Alliance," she said.

The Big Table also takes a look at the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation, diversity and inclusion, and improving the quality of life and place in the Peoria area.

The Big Table is happening Oct. 20 at the Peoria Civic Center. Registration is free. Click here for more information.
