Tazewell County's current chief deputy treasurer wins GOP nod for top job

Hannah Clark for Treasurer Facebook

Hannah Clark is set to become the next Tazewell County Treasurer.

Clark, the current chief deputy treasurer, defeated Tazewell County Board member Mindy Darcy for the job by about 6 percentage points in the Republican primary.

No Democrats are running for the job.

Clark was endorsed by incumbent treasurer Mary Burress, who ran for the 87th House District after falling short in a run against state Senator Dave Koehler in 2020.

Dr. Bill Hauter of Morton had a commanding lead over Burress as of late Tuesday night.

Darcy was endorsed by several other Republican officeholders, including Tazewell County Board chairman Dave Zimmerman, retiring state Rep. Keith Sommer of Morton, and state Rep. Mark Luft of Pekin.
