Greater Peoria Job Board offers a portal for local jobseekers and employers

The new Greater Peoria Job Board creates a one-stop shop for people looking for a local job or employers looking to hire local labor.

Chris Setti is CEO of the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council. He says the board is part of the GP 2030 Initiative.

"We felt that it was a really important part of the talent attraction campaign, as well as the talent retention campaign, of just making sure that the people that are here know about the jobs that are here in a very easy system."

He says the GP 2030 partners realized connecting people with employment is a big component in growing the regional population.

"One part of moving to a community is actually finding a job in that community," Setti said.

Setti says the goal of the Greater Peoria Job Board is to cut through the clutter of other online job websites.

"This is just Peoria-based employers, first of all, so it kind of removes all of that noise of sorting through are these legitimate companies, are they not? These are real jobs at real companies," he said.

More than 1,800 regional jobs are currently posted.
