Kitchen Cooked potato chips production shifted out of Farmington

Utz Brands

Kitchen Cooked potato chips will no longer be made in Central Illinois.

An Utz Brands spokesman said the company will repurpose the Farmington potato chip manufacturing facility to become a sales distribution center. The locally iconic Kitchen Cooked chips will now be made at other Utz facilities.

Farmington employees will be offered jobs in sales distribution or at other Utz facilities. Severance and other benefits will be offered to those who choose not to move or change job roles.

Kitchen Cooked was founded in the 1930s. The brand was purchased by Utz in 2019.

Utz closed the Kitchen Cooked factory in Bushnell soon after purchasing the brand.
