It turns out the BMWs which led police on a chase on Interstate 80 in Grundy County yesterday [THURS] weren't actually stolen from Peoria, after all.
Peoria police spokesperson Semone Roth says police responded to a business burglary in the 1700 block of West Pioneer Parkway just before 7 in the morning yesterday. Suspects fled the scene in several SUV's, but they weren't from a Peoria dealership.
An unoccupied, stolen BMW found in the parking lot of the business was traced back to Springfield.
Multiple agencies are investigating the auto thefts.
