Police arrest Peoria man wanted after Monday gunfire exchange with officers

Police have identified a suspect in an early Monday exchange of gunfire with Peoria officers.

The Illinois State Police have issued an arrest warrant for Carlos Jones, 43, of Peoria, in connection with the incident. Jones is wanted for reckless discharge of a firearm after he and police reportedly exchanged gunfire in the 1200 block of E. McClure just after midnight Monday. No officers were injured in the incident.

Jones is considered armed and dangerous. Police ask citizens to call the ISP, Peoria Police, or CrimeStoppers if they have information on his whereabouts.

Jones was arrested by Peoria police on Thursday.
