A person is dead after a house fire Thursday night in South Peoria.
Firefighters responded to 1632 S. Livingston just after 10:30 p.m. Crews arriving on scene found a working fire with flames showing out a front window.
Firefighters entering the home found a victim on the floor. The coroner said 66-year-old Terry Slaughter, Sr. was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified through dental records.
Slaughter's autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.
The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes. The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
