Peoria woman arrested after child struck in hit-and-run incident

Peoria police have made an arrest in a hit-and-run incident involving a child on a bicycle.

A child was struck in the 1600 block of NE Glen Oak just before 7:15 p.m. The child suffered serious injuries in the crash. The motorist left the scene.

Police announced Wednesday they've arrested the driver, 43-year-old Karrie Brunswig of Peoria, in connection with the incident.

The case was forwarded to the Peoria County State's Attorney's Office for review.

Brunswig is 43, not 39 as previously stated. The Peoria Police Department sent out a corrected press release with her age updated.
