One person dead in South Peoria shooting, marking city's 28th homicide of 2021

A man is dead after a shooting on Monday night in South Peoria.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of 12 rounds fired in the 900 block of S. Greenlawn just before 10:30 p.m.

A man was found lying in the street at W. Ann and S. Greenlawn with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood identified the man as Adrian K. Murphy, 35, whose last known address was in Bloomington. Harwood said he likely died shortly after the shooting.
