A 16-year-old Peorian was arrested Tuesday for allegedly making a threat toward students at Washington Community High School.
Washington Police Chief Mike McCoy said the youth was arrested for falsely making a terrorist threat. That's a Class 1 felony. The juvenile's name wasn't disclosed.
The threat was posted to social media on Sunday. Police maintained a heightened presence at the high school through Monday. The school day went off without incident.
The FBI, the Peoria Public Schools Safety Department, and administration at Washington Community High School assisted with the investigation.
