Ninety percent of OSF HealthCare's more than 24,000 employees systemwide are vaccinated against COVID-19.

The organization required employees to get vaccinated or obtain an exemption by the end of September.

An OSF spokesperson says the healthcare system has granted both religious and medical exemptions from vaccination requirements. Those employees are subject to weekly COVID-19 testing.

OSF declined to release details on how many employees were fired or left the company over the mandate.

OSF HealthCare operates 15 hospitals in Illinois and Michigan.

UnityPoint Health is requiring all employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19 by Nov. 1.
