Several people were taken to the hospital Monday evening after an accident involving a school bus and a SUV in Peoria.
Police say the vehicles collided at Jefferson and Bryan around 6 p.m.
Firefighters found the SUV's front passenger trapped in the vehicle. The jaws of life were used to free that passenger. All four occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital with serious to possibly life-threatening injuries.
The driver and several kids on the bus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The SUV sustained major front end damage, the fire department said. The bus had significant damage to the driver's side.
It's unclear how the accident happened. Information on how many people were on the bus and in the SUV wasn't immediately available.
