Four Washington, Ill. residents, including three teenagers, are dead after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 near Lincoln in Logan County.

The Illinois State Police said Seth Phillips, 47, lost control of his minivan in heavy rain just after 10 p.m. Wednesday. The van skidded across the median and into oncoming southbound traffic.

A semi-tractor trailer struck the minivan. The 47-year-old driver, two 16-year-old girls, and a 17-year-old boy riding in the minivan were pronounced dead at the scene. A 13-year-old girl in the van was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

All were Washington residents.

Illinois State Police released the driver's name on Friday but did not release the names of the three juveniles who were killed.

A passenger in the semi, a 41-year-old man from Georgia, was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

State Police said the driver of the semi, a 50-year-old man from Georgia, refused medical treatment at the scene.
