CVS Health is closing its Lincoln Avenue pharmacy in South Peoria on June 26.
The pharmacy company called the closure a "difficult business decision" in a statement.
All prescriptions on file at that location will be transferred to the 200 N. Main Street location in East Peoria, about 4 miles away across the Illinois River.
But the nearest CVS location is in Campustown, on the West Bluff. A Walgreen's store and Alwan's Pharmacy have locations on Western Avenue.
The Lincoln Avenue CVS was the last pharmacy open on Peoria's South Side. This follows the 2018 closure of the Kroger grocery store at the nearby Madison Park Shopping Center.
