Yellow police tape stretches across a blurry crime scene. It says "Police Line Do Not Cross." The text "WCBU Police and Fire" lays on top of that photo.

A Peoria man is dead after a late Sunday shooting at a South Peoria gas station.

Officers responded to two ShotSpotter alerts near the MacArthur Shell gas station around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said there was an altercation at the gas pumps. Shots were fired.

A man with gunshot wounds was dropped off at the hospital by a private vehicle. Joshua Perkins, 34, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said he suffered massive internal bleeding after he was shot in his front torso.

Peoria police officers arrested 18-year-old Arenza Brown and a 17-year-old male juvenile in connection with the murder on Monday.
