The Central Illinois Hosta Society will meet on Tuesday, May 16 at 6 p.m. at Luthy Botanical Garden, 2520 North Prospect Rd., Peoria. Program: Ella Maxwell and Bob Streitmatter, "Using Hosta's in Container Gardens". Whether you love to garden or just appreciate the beauty of various flora from around the globe, Luthy Botanical Garden is the spot for you. Spread across 5-6 acres in Glen Oak Park, Luthy is home to a tropical conservatory, numerous theme gardens, events and seasonal floral displays, including lily, chrysanthemum and poinsettia shows. Join us, the public is welcome to attend. Refreshments and a garden tour begin at 6 p.m. followed by the meeting and program at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a lawn chair.
