The Peoria Police Department is investigating the city's 21st reported homicide of 2021.

Officers responded to a report of a man lying in the street in the 700 block of NE Jefferson just before 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood identified the man as Rolando Westbrook, 37, of Peoria. He was stabbed several times, and likely died instantly, Harwood said.

On Tuesday, police arrested 55-year-old Micha Gordon of Peoria in connection with Westbrook's murder.

Gordon was also arrested for aggravated assault with a firearm and battery for an unrelated case.
