Man Pleads Guilty in Dismemberment of Champaign Woman

One of six defendants facing charges in the dismemberment of a Champaign woman has pleaded guilty to dismembering her body.  Champaign County State's Attorney Julia Rietz says 27-year-old Davion Hedrick of Champaign faces up to 30 years in prison after entering his plea. He is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 14.

Police have said 24-year-old Ashley Gibson was dismembered and her remains thrown in Clinton Lake after she died at a party in April where cocaine was being used.  Her family had reported her missing.  Investigators have said Hedrick found Gibson and called a number of people who had been at the party to help dispose of her body.
