Danville Mayor Wants Money to Demolish 100 Properties

Google maps

The mayor of Danville is asking the city for nearly $61,000 to purchase more than 100 dilapidated properties to be demolished.  If the request is approved it will be the most properties the city east of Champaign has ever purchased at one time with the intent to demolish.

Most are residential structures but among them is a vacant hotel once used as transitional housing for homeless and parolees.

Mayor Scott Eisenhauer's administration has demolished more than 250 structures since 2009 in the city of about 32,000 residents.
