FBI Seeks Public's Help in Indiana Girl's 2005 Killing

The FBI is appealing for the public's help in solving a more than a decade-old killing of a 13-year-old Indiana girl, whose decapitated body was found by boaters in a river near Chicago.

The head of the FBI's Chicago office, Michael Anderson, held a news conference Wednesday to ask anyone with possible information on the Hammond, Indiana, girl's death to come forward. Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson also participated.

Alexandra Anaya's torso was found wrapped in chains in the Little Calumet River on Aug. 16, 2005, three days after she was last seen alive leaving her home. DNA testing confirmed the torso was Anaya's.  Anderson said investigators will re-interview family, friends and potential witnesses.
