People in Chicago and across the country are telling stories about AbnerMikva. Mikva died yesterday. He was 90. Mikva was a legend in local and national politics. He famously served in all three branches of the federal government: in Congress, as an appeals court judge, and as White House counsel to President Bill Clinton.
In the late 1990s, he and his wife Zoey founded the Mikva Challenge. The organization encourages high school students to be “active citizens and community leaders.” Illinois Public Radio’s Dan Weissmann presents some of Mikva’s own remembrances.
