Across the state, thousands of newspaper subscribers were met with a single word as the headline on the front page Wednesday: "Enough."
The State Journal-Registerof Springfield coordinated the effort to devote the entire front page to an editorial - a decision that hasn't happened at the paper in decades, if ever. Other papers published byGateHouseMedia did the same, and even papers with other publishers took the directive, such as the Chicago Sun-Times.
