Solar Farm Helps Power U Of I Campus

Drive down Windsor Avenue through the south end of the University of Illinois Urbana campus, and you can see the array of black objects on the south side of the road near the railroad tracks. Those are solar panels --- thousands of them. And while an official ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place this morning / today, they’re already generating electricity for the campus.

Illinois Public Radio’s Jim Meadows reports on a new addition to the ways that the university generates its electricity.
