Investigators to discuss new information in officer's death

Investigators are holding a news conference tomorrow to discuss what they describe as "significant new information" in the fatal September shooting of a suburban Chicago police officer.   Lake County Sheriff's Office provided no details about the information.

52-year-old Fox Lake officer Charles Joseph Gliniewicz died weeks before his planned retirement and his death prompted an outpouring of support.

Gliniewicz radioed on Sept. 1 he was chasing three suspicious men on foot. Backup officers arrived to find his body 50 yards from his squad car.

A massive manhunt in the rural area northwest of Chicago ensued. Authorities released a vague description of suspects, and no one has been arrested.
