The Illinois State Board of Education released loads of data on Friday, when the latest statewide report card debuted. But it doesn't include other information school officials say they'd really like to get ahold of.
The school report card shows student demographic trends, class size, graduation rates, how well teachers at any given district are paid compared with the state average.
But a key indicator of academic progress?
That's not posted.
The state earlier released preliminary, statewide results on how students fared taking the new standardized test known as PARCC ... but to the consternation of principals and teachers ... individual school and student scores aren't ready for release yet.
State schools superintendent Tony Smith data's in the process of getting scrubbed and validated.
"Trust me, we're going as fast as we can," Smith said.
Smith says to look for a release late this month, or in early December.
Schools want the PARCC scores back before the next round of student tests.
