A high-profile Chicago lawyer has denied at his own trial that he systematically coached witnesses and purported drug-dealer clients to lie.
Thirty-seven-year-old Beau Brindley pleaded not guilty to multiple counts, including obstruction of justice.
Prosecutors say Brindley wrote scripts in question-and-answer format to guide witnesses on how to lie.
But Brindley testified he employed the Q-and-As before trials precisely to ensure testimony was as consistent and accurate possible.
Brindley also discussed the criteria he uses to decide whether to represent someone. One is that he won't take on anyone willing to cut a deal with prosecutors and cooperate.
