Chicago's Pride parade has renewed celebratory feel

bestgaychicago.com

CHICAGO (AP) - People filling streets and sidewalks for Chicago's gay pride parade yesterday say the event is extra special this year because of the U.S. Supreme Court legalizing same-sex marriage.
The parade follows Friday's ruling allowing the marriages in all 50 states.
Nikita Lowery of Chicago says she decided to attend the parade for the first time this year. The 28-year-old says: "I feel like it's a true celebration now."
The CEO of the gay-rights advocacy group Equality Illinois says it felt like people were holding their breath waiting for the court to rule and it's almost like people were collectively exhaling.
More than 1 million people attended Chicago's first parade after same-sex marriage became legal in Illinois.
