Kankakee Community College’s softball team has claimed the national championship in its division. For the title the Cavaliers defeated East Central Community College of Decatur, Mississippi 5-to-1. Dennis Clark has been head coach of the Cavaliers Softball Team since 1983. He says the team has played in the national playoffs 20 times, but this experience is amazing.
“You know we’ve finished third in the nation four times. We’ve finished fourth. We’ve finished fifth. You know, we’ve done it all. But we’ve never done this.”
The Cavaliers play in Division II of the NJCAA. The team finished with a 45-6 season record.
