Former Gov. Pat Quinn is pushing consumer rights in his first public appearance since losing the November election.
Quinn addressed a group students today at Loyola University's School of Law panel on forced arbitration. Quinn says consumers should be aware of their protections in the marketplace and have their voice heard. He says more public officials should push for consumer rights.
He didn't mention anyone by name but says he's disappointed in Chicago's approach to consumer rights and that those with "big money" and power shouldn't take over "our Democracy."
The Democrat had hinted that he'd work on consumer causes after leaving office. Quinn helped start the Citizen Utility Board early in his career. Quinn in November lost his bid for a second full term to now-Gov. Bruce Rauner.
