Midwest Energy Policy Conference in St. Louis

Representatives of a wide spectrum of energy policy interests are gathering in St. Louis this week. They'll be attending the eighth annual Midwest Energy Policy Conference.  The conference is being organized by the non-profit Midwest Energy Initiative.

The group's executive director, Josh Campbell says conference attendees will not all share the same perspectives on energy policy.

"The purpose of this is to bring groups and individuals together that do not traditionally cross paths in traditional conferences or meetings, whether it be environmental advocates and researchers, or utilities and renewable experts or engineers."

This year's conference will focus on the EPA's proposed rule limiting carbon dioxide emissions from power plants, and on state energy plans.

She earned a Ph.D. in ecosystem ecology from the University of California in Santa Barbara, and a B.A. in environmental policy and biology from Cornell.
