Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is not saying if he will sign a bill allowing residents to carry concealed guns. The state legislature approved a concealed carry bill after a federal court ruled Illinois’ ban unconstitutional.
The plan prohibits guns in schools and on public transit. But Quinn wouldn’t say if he’d sign it before lawmakers return to Springfield next week for a special session.
“I’m looking at that bill. That’s a complicated bill. We’re reviewing that bill. There’s a lot more to come.”
Many lawmakers raised concerns that the concealed carry law would override gun regulations enacted by various cities around the state. Neither the National Rifle Association or the City of Chicago endorsed the final version sent to the governor.
