East Peoria is making it easier to dispose of unwanted medications. The city has installed a disposal drop box in front of the public safety building at 201 Washington Street.
The white, repurposed mailbox accepts only unwanted or expired prescription and over-the-counter pills and patches. The drugs will be incinerated and should be sealed in ziplock bags. The disposal drop box is not for needles. Aerosol, liquid and gel medications are also not accepted.
