The director of the Peoria City/County Health Department is leaving the post June 30th. Greg Chance has led the department for six years. He says one top goal for the department is to work more with non-profits and hospitals in the future:
“So that we can actually see the dial move on some of these significant health challenges we have in our community like teen pregnancy, like STDs, like access to oral health, especially in our low-income population.”
Chance is leaving to take a top management job at Advanced Medical Transport this summer. The Health Department Board meets Thursday to pick an interim director and talk next steps to find a permanent replacement.
