Eureka College remembered the life of Alumnus Ronald Reagan on the 10th anniversary of his death.

The College hosted a ceremony this morning in the Reagan Peace Garden where a piece of the Berlin Wall stands. Reagan’s presidency may be best remembered for his part in helping end the Cold War.

Ann Lewis is the Board President of Reagan’s Boyhood Home in Dixon, Illinois. She was keynote of the ceremony. Lewis says Reagan’s ability to find common ground is an ever important legacy that still resonates at his alma mater. “If he was looking down on this ceremony he would have said “YES”. My School is thriving. It’s expanding and the students are getting the same kind of education I got. One based in a the American dream, of not only a good education but of services, which is a big emphasis here at Eureka.”

Ronald Reagan died June 5, 2004. He had Alzheimer's Disease.

A day long event for the anniversary of his death is being held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi, California.
