A pop culture phenomenon comes to River Valley Players’ stage with “Schoolhouse Rock Live!” Based on the Emmy award winning 1970’s Saturday morning cartoon series to teach basic match and grammar through clever songs is making a small screen come back and lighting up stages everywhere. River Valley Players invites you to this delightful trip down memory lane at 7:30 pm Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10 with a 2:00 pm matinee on Sunday June 11.

“Schoolhouse Rock Live!” follows a nerve racked schoolteacher, who is anxious about his first day of teaching. He tries to relax by watching TV, when various characters, representing facets of his personality, emerge from the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music through such songs as “Just a Bill,” “Lolli, Lolli, Lolli,” and “Conjunction Junction.” The production is directed and choreographed by Lauren Frawley, with music direction by Jamie Wilson. Join the talented cast of young adults including Bobby Gaspardo, Avery Withers, Taylor Rowe, Bella Gaspardo, and Daisy Fritz as they bring this familiar show of the 70s generation to life through fresh eyes and ears, bringing their own experiences, music influences, and the 2023 sensibilities to the show.
