- As Zaire's troops continue to flee before the rebel advance, President Mobutu Sese Seko has brought in foreign mercenaries to help his army fight. Mercenaries are making a comeback else where in Africa, and Daniel speaks with journalist Elizabeth Rubin, whose article in this month's Harper's magazine describes the workings of Executive Outcomes, a Sputh African based company that provides military support to African governments in trouble. Rubin says the company symbolizes what she calls the "privatization of war" and the return of white colonials to Africa in the form of coporate mercenaries.
