Deere Profits Are Up

John Deere equipment sold well over the last three months. This morning, the company reported second quarter earnings rose to $1.2 billion or $3.67 per share, compared to $2.50 in the same quarter a year ago.

But without extra income from the new federal tax law, Deere says its second quarter profits would have been lower, at $3.14 per share.

Worldwide sales rose 29% to $10.7 billion from February through April. And the company has raised its full-year earnings projection to $2.3 billion, from $2.1 billion in February.

Sales of agriculture and turf equipment rose 20% in the 2nd quarter, but jumped 84% in the construction and forestry division.

And just a reminder next month, the company will host a big celebration at its tractor and engine museum in Waterloo. "100 Years of the John Deere Tractor" will be held June 15th and 16th.2Q 2018 Earnings Call Presentation by Michelle O'Neill on Scribd
