Il launching Ebola hotline

Illinois is launching an Ebola Hotline. The Illinois Department of Public Health made the announcement after word of another health care worker in Texas testing positive for Ebola. The hotline’s expected to be up and running by the end of the week.

Dr. LaMarHasbrouck, the state’s public health director, says the plan is to provide answers to questions from residents. He says those could include who may be infected, how it spreads, and what can be done to avoid it.

This time, Hasbrouck says no one in Illinois is believed to have the Ebola virus. He says his agency continues to work closely with hospitals and local health agencies. He says if any cases of Ebola are suspected in the state, the public will be notified.
