A 49-year-old man was shot and killed just before 4 a.m. Monday in Peoria's East Bluff neighborhood.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said Sam B. Causey, Jr., was found outside a house in the 700 block of East Ravine early this morning with multiple gunshot wounds to his front and back. It's likely he died within seconds due to the severity of his wounds, Harwood said.
Peoria Police Lt. Michael Boland said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made.
Harwood said there were no defensive wounds and no signs of close-range firing.
This is Peoria's 15th homicide of 2019.
