Two Peoria Nursing Homes have been cited by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
In January, Sharon Health Care Elms on North Rochelle is cited for failure to follow fall procedure policy resulting in significant patient injuries. The home is being assessed a $25,000 fine.
In February, Lutheran Home on Galena Road is cited for failure to follow a fall intervention plan that also resulted in significant patient injuries. Lutheran Home was also cited in March for failure to report the staff sexual abuse of a patient and allowing the staffer to work the remainder of the day. Lutheran’s fines total $50,000.
Both facilities have requested hearings on the citations.
