Cat Foundation donates $2.5 million to Global Poverty Project

Caterpillar and its charitable division are investing $2.5 million dollars in the Global Poverty Project.

The organization is using the funding to bring sanitation access to impoverished countries. The Global Poverty Project estimates universal sanitation would allow more women to receive an education, get a job or run a small business.

The money will also be used to provide basic education for the 31 million girls who currently do not attend school around the world.

The overall goal of the Caterpillar investment is to help end extreme poverty by 2030.
