PSO Presents "Gershwin Matinee" on Sunday

This week, we're talking with George Stelluto, Music Director of the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. They're presenting a matinee concert this weekend, tailored to children and families. It opens with "Gershwin's Magic Key," a presentation that introduces us to George Gershwin and some of his best-known songs. It's one of several productions from  Classical Kids LIVE! which the PSO has featured. Stelluto talks about how it works to open the concert

We also talk about other Gershwin works in the program -- "Rhapsody in Blue" and "An American in Paris." And we discuss some of the pre-concert activities taking place ahead of the performance.

The Peoria Symphony Orchestra will present it's Gershwin Matinee Sunday afternoon at 3:00 in the Peoria Civic Center Theater. Pre-concert activities begin at 2:00.
