D’Majay Nieem Sheard is the first member of the new Generation Beta born in Peoria.
Sheard was born at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center at 12:10 a.m. on Jan. 1. His parents are Jayla Robinson and Dominick Sheard of Peoria. He has four siblings.

Hunter Frazier of Morton was the second baby the Peoria area welcomed in 2025. He was born at Carle Health Methodist Hospital at 12:23 a.m. on Jan. 1.
Generation Alpha, the first to be born entirely within the 21st century, closed out on Dec. 31. The new generation, Beta, will stretch through 2039.
