A one-of-a-kind act is opening this year's Five Points Washington theater season. The Red Hot Chili Pipers are a Scottish bagpipe band. They don't just play traditional music, however.
"They kind of play a genre that they call bag rock, where it's a morphing of the two, and it's a really fascinating show because it's so unique," said theater manager Josh Schnetzler.
That show is Aug. 2. Other big events coming up at Five Points this year include Christian singer Amy Grant on Oct. 10.
"This is gonna sell out, and it's been a really popular show for us. We were really happy with the ticket sales so far," she said.
Schnetzler says the venue is partnering with Martin Media to bring bigger acts to Washington.
