A second bar in downtown Farmington caught fire Thursday night.
Firefighters responded to Ashers Bar & Grill, 36 E. Fort St., just after 9:15 p.m. Crews on scene found heavy fire in the kitchen that had spread to the second floor above, making the fire more difficult to extinguish.
Mutual aid was called in from multiple agencies across the region.
One firefighter suffered a minor ankle injury. He was taken to Graham Hospital in Canton, and has since been released.
The business was closed at the time of the fire.
The Farmington Community Fire Protection District has called in the Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office for assistance with the investigation.
On Monday, the Whiskey Dixie's bar on N. Cone St., and an adjacent deli, caught fire, requiring a similar large-scale response to put out the blaze. That building is considered a total loss.
